The world could use some kindness right now. The organizers of the new k20 Kindness Without Borders Summit believe that with all their hearts. It’s obvious to anyone paying attention, says co- founder Alan Williams. “Have you read the news lately?” And it’s especially obvious in the United States, says co-founder Francesca Donlan. “We are a divided country,” Donlan says. “That is a fact. But kindness doesn’t have a camp. It is a unit-er and not a divider.”

The Roots of Compassion and Kindness (ROCK) Center at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) will host the inaugural k20 Kindness Summit Without Borders next month. About 20 global kindness leaders will kick off the event, which runs May 15 to 16. The summit brings influential figures from business, local community, academia, and healthcare to explore how kindness can drive systemic change. “I am so proud that the inaugural summit of this global kindness initiative is launching at FGCU,” said Maria Roca, Director of ROCK at FGCU. “This will be an inspiring, educational and immersive opportunity to shine a spotlight on kindness and the powerful role it can play in transforming our lives and strengthening our community.”
